The origin and development of concentration (and also the valuable human trait of determination) depends on your capability to fully experience the ‘power’ residing in you as your soul and the consequent gifts of brain, heart, mind and the five senses by God the gracious. When all these core of you work in their needed harmony and co-ordination, healthy minds with sound bodies or what the Holy Quran calls as “IBadiyas Salihoon” (See Al Ambiya 21:105) take birth who will “rule the earth” and thus will be capable of serving the divine purpose. This is also the time of the realization of what can be called as coreself. Core-self is the culmination of ‘power’ inside you. If the mind is healthy and sound, a personality can even realize, view or grasp core-self. Question is that is it really possible?
As soon as a person is able to conquer the truth and experience it as a result of his or her obedience to God and abiding by His halal and haram that he or she is created by God the gracious and is like the rest of the creatures of God and is among the creations of God, he or she finally comes to grasp and view their core-selves. Such experiences happen to be the part of viewing the signs of God, as pointed in the Holy Quran: Soon we will show them our signs (spreading) in the universe and in them Selves until it becomes clear to them that God is truth (Hameem Sajda 41:53). Experiencing or viewing these signs of God provides a firm ground for a person to stand very solid and to fully attend to the task in his mind, resulting in the power of concentration.
So he doesn’t allow himself astray in the difficult journey of self-discovery
After you have been exposed to the different states of self in the Mega stage 2, it is time that you can enable yourself to view core-self.
First, think and feel that there is no burden of responsibility upon your head. This is the compulsory result of your belief that all of your basic needs i.e., belonging to your food, your clothing, residence, your benefit and loss and the matters of your honor and insult are in the mighty hands of God all the powerful and all-knowing
On similar lines, try and try hard to get rid of all thinking, looming fears, greed for things, unfulfilled desires and all sorts of intentions and motifs; as you continue to remove such burdens, you feel yourself weightless, light, softened and cool.
But it is not like a sitting in a room and doing all that exercise. Our job on each stop of self-discovery is to follow Sunnah—the most beautiful conduct of the last Prophet of God who therefore came to finalize all wisdom sent to human beings by God. Sunnah teaches us to engage ourselves purely in those what is sanctioned by God (Halal) and to refrain from what is forbidden (Harram). And, Sunnah also guides us to the two fundamental keys of the treasures precious than what is in the earth: One is Taqwa (consciousness of the presence of God watching and listening you) and the other is ‘Sabbir’--constant patience against continuous hardships.
So self-discovery wholly is a practical thing—that is learned in the course of passing one’s life. The purpose of this training program is then to provide you with a clear guidance, to create a stir in you to walk on the path of self-discovery and to impress upon your mind the significant and the positive change to which you can invite yourself. This is the change you are needed to overcome difficulties of your behavior which are hurdles for your progress in life. More than that, the purpose is to provide you a clear light you may comfortably move towards truth.
Exercise
After you have allowed yourself to be neat and clean, softened and enlightened by going through all that mentioned above, your gradually find yourself in a better and clear light to view and grasp presence of some vital force inside you— this is nothing but your coreself.
Now, don’t you feel that it is an entity composed of a sort of blazing light that keeps glowing, giving you the sense and feelings of your presence?
Remember, this glowing or shininess is there due to the mirror of the heart
Heart has the capacity to reflect and to embrace images, though brain is the store-house of the images, known for its memorization potential. For example, in sura Hujraat, Regarding faithful, Allah says that faith is decorated in their hearts; and, regarding the worship of the sheep by Bani-Israel, it was said that their hearts embraced the sheep
Try to make a sense and attach meanings to this blazing entity you viewed on the mirror of heart. This is none except your own self.
There is no name or shape for it, but one can simply feel and realize with all of its solemnity and dignity .this is like a driver (spirit) in a car (your skeleton or body).
More and more, this entity is responsible for ‘the unfathomable ocean of consciousness’ in you i.e. that makes you conscious of your own existence. It thus can be called as “consciousness upon consciousness” or “grace upon grace” that is permanent and a solid reality in itself.
So now question yourself: who is the creator of this blazing light or a “shining consciousness” in you?
This is so definite, so clear cut and proportionate, so graceful and beautiful, so permanent and stable—that it is impossible that it has come into existence automatically
The grandeur of this blazing light sparkling in you indicates that yourself like this universe is the part of a grand design
This has all the chances to be doubted that it was the same what was told by the Prophets of God.
This assures you that you are among the created so the amazing light and consciousness— the “sense of being” or “presence” informs you about the ultimate truth—your creator
Here, you reach at the certainty of belief (Haq ul Yaqeen) that you are one of the creatures of one who claims Himself as the Lord of the Worlds
Human beings know Him on the name of Allah, as revealed in the last and the safest scripture—the Holy Quran. Or, in English or Latin, He is known also by the name of God— the sole Creator and Cherisher of the worlds and the life in them including human beings(as Bible, old and New Testament confirms it).
Another assurance that is spontaneous at that moment sweeps in you:
Since the core-self or Nafas which you view as a blazing light is indivisible and viewed as one single whole in its existence,
How can the Lord of worlds be more than one?
The universe and life even it its tiniest form like the crawling insects exist as a single unified whole and thus witness the open reality of the oneness of God.
So the view of yourself helps you observe the oneness of your Creator; this is in keeping with the Hadith that one who recognizes oneself, he recognizes God.
And, you develop the belief that your Creator is free from all partners, intercessors, descendants or any other sharers in His kingdom.
